this is cool.

Starting in 1976, photographer Diego Goldberg has photographed his family on June 17th of every year. The impressive documentation called "The Arrow of Time" can be viewed here. I really LOVE this.

tiny little chairs

For some reason.... and I have mentioned before, I have always had a tiny obsession with tiny chairs. I remember my friends in high school all "dibbed" what we were going to have a collection of and I chose little chairs. It was SUPER random at the time... but since then, I have stumbled onto great finds like these.

play teepee

I always find things that I absolutely LOVE... just days after Christmas. These indoor play teepees definitely fall into that category. I am in the process of decorating/furnishing our new home and this on one piece that I might need to add to Ruby's bedroom. Or... maybe I will venture out and attempt to make one myself!

jewelry box

Everyone keeps asking me what Santa is bringing Ruby for Christmas?? Hmmm. I realized a few days ago that I had NOTHING for her! Literally. I mean I know that she IS getting things from Grandparents and maybe a cousin or two.. but we have nothing for her. Am I a HORRIBLE mother? What?? She doesn't need anything and I really do not need anymore toys around the house. So I was browsing at DownEast Home the other day and I found this darling music box with a ballerina inside that spins to "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." My little "Dorothy" will LOVE it. It was $9.00... much better than $39 here. I bought it. So now.... I do have one gift for Ruby to open on Friday morning:) Trust me... she will still get more than she needs. I hope you all do too. Merry Christmas.

the pit boot

I have been on the hunt for some great rain boots lately. For some reason... I really want some for Christmas. I was thinking I liked the red Hunter Wellies, but I am kind of liking this cheaper option.

apple beer...mmmmmm

Alright people... I've got a little experiment/favor to ask. I am a BIG fan of the local company/beverage Apple Beer. I/You can purchase this delightful beverage at Costco. Well... people.... the people at Costco have for some odd reason decided to discontinue their sales of Apple Beer:( Super lame. Sooooo, that is why I am going to and I am petitioning all of you (because you know you WILL be at Costco a few times before Christmas) to UTILIZE the Costco Comment Box. Do this for me people. Let's see if those things are really taken seriously. Thank you in advance:) Molly J.

So.....

Cute Megan over at So Buttons featured Not Too Shabby and yours truly on her fun blog today. So take a gander over there and stay a while. She is a great writer and has awesome taste in music! I love reading her honest, witty, and sentimental soliloquies about the humors and joys of being a mom.

I just bought these suspenders online from American Apparel for Ruby. They might be the cutest things ever. Now I think I (she) needs a white pair! It is a viscous cycle.

A Christmas Carol

Ok, I know I have been horrible at posting lately but it is a good thing. It means I have been super busy with my photography and playing outside in this 70 degree weather. It is NOVEMBER in Salt Lake City and unseasonably warm. We are taking full advantage of it. Today however... I have to admit, on this beautiful day we went to the opening of A Christmas Carol with Jim Carrey. It was pretty entertaining AND pretty "spooky" as Ruby would say. I don't know what I was thinking taking her. She is not afraid of anything (except my brother in-law Tom... for good reason)! Usually, Ruby would be interested in a movie... but get little bored midway through and explore. Not this movie... her eyes were locked to that screen, through those little 3D glasses. I wish I had a picture, she looked so cute. Like I said though... this movie was very entertaining and Jim Carrey's performance as multiple characters was impressive.

tubes

“Tubes” are thing of natural beauty. I am so impressed by these adventurous photographers who, armed with a waterproof camera and perfect timing, were able to snap these incredible pictures. Cheers to them for "taking one for the team" and being pummeled by these waves so we could all enjoy these photographs.

might be better than the mini.

This minimalist car called the Daihatsu Basket will debut at this years Tokyo Motor Show. I kind of want it. It is cute, quirky, retro and will definitely bring a smile to my face!

Next to Glee, Modern Family is my new favorite show. It is SO HILARIOUS. You HAVE to watch it. Since they are on at the same time... HULU is my saving grace.

pantone stairs

These stairs in Wuppertal are awesome. Acrylic paint on 112 steps and each color expresses different emotion. How neat would it be to have more color and art like this in our everyday lives. Horst Glasker is the fabulous artist.
